Municipal Election 2024: Council Candidate Filing Period Open
File by Friday, August 9 at 5 p.m.
A Municipal Election will be held in the City of San Ramon on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the following City of San Ramon officers:
- Mayor
- Councilmember, District 1
- Councilmember, District 3
The nomination filing period closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024.
The nomination period will be extended to Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 5 p.m. if an incumbent does not file for re-election by Friday, August 9, 2024 at 5 p.m.
Candidates are required to make an appointment with the City Clerk's Office to obtain and file nomination papers.
To be eligible to run for office, a candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, be a registered voter, and must be registered in the political subdivision for which you are running. The office is nonpartisan.

Summer Concert Series: Pride & Joy

Learn about propagating native plants in your garden from Las Positas Horticulture Technician Laura Cornette.
The educational speaker series events will be held after regularly scheduled garden clean-ups from 9 a.m. to noon, and are free to clean-up day volunteers.

San Ramon's finest young artists from four distinguished organizations will perform a medley of genres, including classical chamber music, rock favorites, musical theatre, and traditional Indian dance.

Construction Update: Crow Canyon Widening
Construction Continues Between Alcosta Blvd & St. George Road
Work continues on the Crow Canyon Widening Project between Alcosta Boulevard and Crow Canyon Private (Cobblestone).
Work Recently Completed Through 8/1/24:
- Paving operations and roadway striping from Alcosta Blvd. through Crow Canyon Rd. at the intersection of Tahiti Dr. / El Capitan; Tahiti Dr.; and El Capitan southbound
- Comcast eastbound utility relocation work
- Excavation and concrete work between Barbados and Crow Canyon Private
- Completed eastbound paving operations
- Opened Barbados Drive
- Completed eastbound striping
- Began removal of pole bases east of Crow Canyon Private
- Poured concrete median tips
Work Planned Through 8/9/24:
- Continue eastbound landscape and mulch work
- Landscape and mulch installation – portions of the work will require the closure of two lanes in the eastbound direction during working hours. A minimum of one lane will always be open for vehicles and bikes.
- Continue westbound storm drain and grading work. This work requires closure of one westbound travel lane.
- Continue subgrade work for the northside path
- Install irrigation sleeves under northside path
- Site clean-up
- Saturday landscape maintenance work will take place on August 3. A minimum of one lane will always be open for vehicles and bikes.

Construction Update: Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing
Work continues on the Iron Horse Trail Overcrossing at Bollinger Canyon Road. Please see below for anticipated upcoming work.
Work Recently Completed Through 8/1/24:
- North MSE Wall structure substantially complete
- Poured Pier 3 Pile Cap
- Poured Pier 3 Pedestal
- Excavated for overcrossing stairs
- Poured foundation for overcrossing stairs
- Adjusted traffic signal indicators
- Held MSE wall coating demonstration
Work Anticipated Through 8/9/24:
- Continue demolition, excavation, and grading on the Iron Horse Trail
- Continue embankment grading
- Continue drainage
- Pedestrian sidewalk pour at south end of the project. Please watch for changes to the path.
